HISTORY

Bellingham Maze was originally developed by the Bellingham family and first opened to the public in 1993.

The huge 80 x 80 metre star-shaped hedge maze was planted using cypress pine trees and slowly grew over the years.

Over the years a number of other mazes and puzzles have been added, including the tyre maze, rope maze, box of books maze, traffic lights maze and a grass labyrinth. In 2011 an 18 hole mini golf course was installed and in 2013 a timber scrabble maze.

in 2013, the large hedge maze went through an extensive regeneration program replacing all of the original 20 year old Cypress pine trees. Due to the significant rainfall experience between 2009 and 2013 and the age of the pines, they were quickly becoming trees and exposing their trunks, rather than a leafy hedge. Therefore the decision was made to replace all pines with a more than 1000 Lilly Pilly plants, and create what is now a greatly improved hedge maze.

In June 2018 the Cheshire family acquired the property and are very excited to own & operate a local icon and have many plans on improving what is already an a'Maze'ing destination for locals and tourist alike.
